Origins of Aris’s musical skills came from his family by singing and playing together in childhood. Therefore, he continued the music career as a singer in the Riga Dome Choir School in 1996. First 9 years by studying classical music – played piano, cello and sang in boys choir. Meantime, he did several shows in opera theater with opera “Magic flute”, that was one of the first solo performances on the stage excluding countless concerts with Riga Dom Boys Choir in Latvia and even in US.

After voice change, about 14 years old, Aris started to play guitar. He loved improvising, composing both on the piano and guitar.

Therefore in 2006 studies in the secondary school (also Riga Dom Choir School) continued in jazz department for 4 years. There was a good opportunity to get know drum set, electric base and jazz piano. Also guitar teacher was very knowledgeable and helpful. At that time, Aris started his active concert and gig life by playing guitar. He played in big band, pop band, acoustic trio and with a few random musicians as a replacement. Also spent much time in jam sessions. Then the circle of valuable acquaintances, managers, organizers and friends was expanding.

Aris was studying with the same guitar teacher also further in Jazeps Vitols academy of music in 2010.

In 2012 for one year he was ERASMUS exchange student in Conservatory of Santa Cecilia (in Rome, Italy). There without studying guitar and Italian, he got a great view and experience of life.

After 2 years with excellent grades Aris got bachelor degree in jazz guitar and pedagogy. Since 2010 when studies started, his regular job is also to teach guitar in several state schools and privately.

Since then he also started to play in several jazz festivals and contests with big bands, jazz ensembles, funk, pop bands and one fusion band.

Most often you’ll see Aris performing with Latvian vocalist Alise Kante, they’re doing concerts since 2010 in various ensembles.

For some time quite regularly, they were performing as a duo on the cruise ship. There he got to know Polish singer Dagmara Staniek, with whom he played several concerts and recorded several cover songs in interesting and modern arrangements.

Since 2015 Aris got know Latvian singer Jolanta Gulbe Pashkevich and adding the 3rd member - guitarist Ivars Hermanis they started to play Portuguese Fado music.

In January of 2016 Aris got successful experience in “Miami beach jazz festival” in Miami, USA, where Aris performed own compositions by the fusion trio “Syncope”.

In December of 2017 “Syncope” released their first album with compositions and cover arrangements.

In addition to these musicians, with whom he regularly performs, from time to time Āris plays in the Orchestra Riga, he also practices steel guitar in country music with Juris Gausiņš Pakavrock Band, also performs with jazz organ and piano player Atis Andersons, singer Kitija Blūma, singer and guitarist Filips Mundukjans, the National Guard Orchestra, the Mirage Big Band and other musicians.

Since first years in music school, Aris spends a lot of time composing and arranging in a wide range of genres. As he says “For me, that is the best way, how to express all my ideas.”

In 2020, the musician was nominated among the finalists of the competition in the Film Music Contest, where he participated with an orchestra arrangement for the song "Seven Steps to Heaven" by composer Artis Gaga.

In 2020, thanks to Jolanta Gulbe Pashkevich, in the conditions of a pandemic, the composer started to create backing tracks for vocalists.
